Brie Larson Marvel’s world can’t hold a pause — something it acknowledged with a raucous reply this weekend… for which the internet is once again criticizing her.
The actress was present at the D23 Expo on Saturday – where Disney showcased a ton of new stuff that came out to her. One of those projects, “The Marvels,” stars Bree and her character Captain Marvel… only this time, it will include other women with Marvel-like powers.
As she was doing press outside the main stage area, she was asked a very straightforward question – how long do you think you’ll be playing Captain Marvel?
Telling his answer. She says she clearly doesn’t know, thinks openly / questions whether people really want her to handle more than ever. It was a bit tense, and the interviewer tried to lighten the mood… to no real avail.
Now, the backlash… a fascinating critique of Bree from the good number of people who responded to this video in the comments – with her main complaint being why she’s making such a huge passive-aggressive stink at this sort of layout of a question. .. especially because of the years old of this saga.
We’ll leave you all the details about it, but essentially… when Brie was cast as Captain Marvel back in 2018 and released in 2019, there was a lot of random hatred for her — of various kinds. For the reason we also do not understand. Her haters say she’s downright unfit – her advocates say she’s the victim of gross misogyny by a crazy fan base.
Her apparent dislike for her wasn’t just limited to Twitter – news about her film and others that she was affiliated with at the time was reviewed by people who only wanted to annoy her… again. , for ill reasons- defined and from anywhere.
Some have said that the support of more diverse races/critic pools – through inclusion riders, etc – could be the catalyst… but in any case, Bree is clearly aware of the target on her back. FWIW, Brie also has a lot of people rushing to her defense… but it’s a mixed bag.
John Boyega rips Disney for ruining his ‘Star Wars’ character development
Of course, she’s going to be doing this latest film — which is due out next year — where she’ll be reprising her character… from the Mouse House.
John Boyega It all gets along very well… that too, had a hard go With “Star Wars” fan base and Disney at large. Safe to say, that studio and everything that comes with it isn’t for everyone.
