Brigitte Nielsen is opening up in a new essay about aging and her life at age 4 at 59 Sunday Times, red sonja The star was 54 when she gave birth to daughter Frida, the youngest of her five children and, Nielsen says, “the love of my life.”
The Danish actress pushes back against beliefs – and her own early fears – that she will “get tired” of having a child at a mature age. If anything, she says, Frida has put a spring in her step.
“Men say to me, ‘You’re almost 60 and you’re 4. Why aren’t you tired?'” writes Nielsen, who shares Frida with fifth husband, 43-year-old Mattia Dessi. “I tell them, ‘I am a woman.’ We mothers are strong. I thought before she gave birth to her, ‘How am I going to do this? This is going to be exhausting,’ but I just turned 59 and she gives me so much energy.”
She adds, “Ever since she was born, I wake up with excitement every day.” Nielsen also credits her daughter for bringing “an incredible amount of calming energy” and helping her become more productive. In contrast, the actress is feeling “exhausted” after giving birth to her first child, Julian, at the age of 20, just before shooting. red sonja Opposite “Good Man” Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Nielsen – who was briefly married to her Rocky IV And cobra co-star Sylvester Stallone — also shared how she stays fit before she turns 60 next year, a milestone she says she’s “totally embracing.” Noting that she “worked hard to lose weight” after having her daughter, the former model swears by daily swims, regular exercise, and light, veggie-packed meals.
“I like to stay in shape, but I don’t spend 10 hours a day at the gym,” Beverly Hills Cop II Star says. “I worked hard to lose weight after giving birth to Frida and I think it’s important to maintain your health. I swim in our pool daily and workout three times a week. I hammer on the rowing machine I kill.”
She also abstains from smoking and drinking, but says that “none of it feels like punishment.”
“Being healthy has become my passion and I’m going to be a full 60 next year,” says the former reality star.
“I’m so happy with the way I look. Of course I look older — I’m older — but when I look in the mirror I’m like, ‘Man, you look good.’ I used to be very tough on myself but now I have become very kind.
“I was fearless then and I am fearless now but I am less carefree,” she adds. “I don’t jump in the pool without checking the water first. When I was little I used to just jump and sometimes I hit my head too hard, but now I’ve matured more. I learn.”
