Kelly Rizzo reacts to Bob Saget’s ‘In Memoriam’ tribute at Emmys: ‘He’d be proud for this recognition’

Bob Saget was featured prominently during the “In Memoriam” segment at the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, something his widow, Kelly Rizzo, said broke his heart “again.” Rizzo, who married full house In 2018 the star admitted on social media that she “wasted a whole day waiting for this.”

Saget was found dead in his Florida hotel room on January 9. The actor’s cause of death was due to a head injury after an unintentional fall. He was 65 years old. Rizzo has been open about her grieving process. In May, she revealed that she can’t say “the D-word.”

“I say, ‘The day everything happened,'” Rizzo told his friend Amanda Kloots.

“It’s like, he’s still my husband,” she said. “It’s not like, ‘Oh, that’s my ex-husband.’ It’s like… the relationship is different now. It’s just – it’s the same.”

Since the actor’s death, Rizzo has been with Saget’s three adult daughters, with whom he had ex-wife Sherry Kramer.

“Their girls came to live with me, you know, the first time I moved into the new house last week, and they walked in and I was like, ‘So this is like a museum for your dad, So don’t be surprised, but yeah, she’s everywhere,'” Rizzo said. “And then they’ll catch me like talking to a picture every now and then, and they’re like, ‘Stepmother Kelly, are you Are you ok?'”

In June, Saget was posthumously honored with an Impact Award at the fourth annual Critics’ Choice Real TV Awards in June. Rizzo ran to support her husband.

“He was one of the pioneers in the world of reality TV,” she said People, “It’s the first red carpet I’ve done without him. It’s so weird. I feel like he’s waiting in the wings and he’ll be like, ‘Honey, I’ll be there in a few minutes.’ It still doesn’t feel right, but what we can do is do our best and be here to celebrate him and his legacy.
