It is unclear whether the brothers have reconciled following reports of a 2018 date rift. The Guardian reports that William and Harry made no eye contact and maintained a physical distance during the funeral.

Harold served in the royal household from 2004 to 2011 and worked closely with Charles, Harry and William. He said he did not believe that the joint appearance of Harry and William would be a PR stunt, but rather a decision that was made naturally.

Harold said, “Things don’t just happen. They always go as planned. But I don’t think it was intentionally planned.”

Harold said the brothers had already shown they were “a joint family” when they accompanied their wives to Windsor Castle to see tributes a few days after the Queen’s death.

“It may be short-lived, but the Queen’s death brought them closer together,” Harold said.

William invited Meghan Markle and Harry to join the walkout, a Kensington Palace spokesperson previously told The Times of London.

According to The Times, the spokesperson said, “The Prince of Wales thought this was an important show of unity at an incredibly difficult time for the family.”

Harold said that Harry’s relationship with the king could also improve. The monarch “mentioned her love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas” in his first speech as king on 9 September.

“The fact that Charles said that, it was he expanding an olive branch,” Harold said.

“He accepted his new life in California, but clarified that they are part of the family. It was his first major statement as King, and he clarified that even though people don’t like Meghan, she is part of the family.” part of it,” he added.

Representatives for Kensington Palace, Buckingham Palace, and the Duke of Sussex did not immediately respond to an insider’s request for comment.
