The emperor’s coffin was moved from Balmoral to Edinburgh earlier this week. Thousands gathered to pay tribute at St Giles’ Cathedral, where Her Majesty’s body was laid to rest before her coffin was again taken to London via RAF aircraft on Tuesday evening.

The queen’s coffin was received by hundreds of cheers upon her arrival in a chariot through the palace gates, as shown in a videoPosted on Twitter by ITV royal editor Chris Ship.

While no photos were taken from inside the palace, photographer Jeremy Selvin captured Charles, Harry and Markle as they waited to receive Her Majesty’s coffin. The new monarch hosted a private event for the royal family at the palace and Prince William and Kate Middleton were also in attendance, Yahoo reports. Other attendees included the Queen’s children Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, as well as Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall, according to Yahoo.

The late emperor’s coffin was placed to rest overnight in the Bow Room of the palace. On Wednesday afternoon, it will travel in a procession to Westminster Hall, where the public will be able to pay tribute to the Queen ahead of her funeral on Monday, 19 September.

Prior to Tuesday, Harry and Charles had not been photographed in public together for over a year. Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021 – when Harry, Charles and other members of the royal family walked in procession behind Philip’s coffin at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle – seems to be the last time they were pictured together.

Both the Sussexes and Charles appeared at events celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June this year, although they were not photographed together at these events.

While Harry spoke about his broken relationship in his interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, it appears that the Duke and King Charles have put their issues aside since the Queen’s death.

In his first speech as king on Friday, Charles “mentioned his love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas.”

According to Roya Nikah, royal editor of The Sunday Times, as Charles was officially sworn in as monarch on Saturday by the Council of Access, he used an ink pot that was a joint gift from Harry and William.

Harry also paid tribute to his father in his first statement since Queen Elizabeth’s death on Monday.

“I cherish these times shared with you and the many other special moments in between. You are already missed so much, not only by us, but around the world,” he said in a statement about his late grandmother shared. Archwell website. “And as it comes to the first meetings, we now honor our father in his new role as King Charles III.”
