Meghan Markle requests ‘one-on-one’ meeting with King Charles: report

A royal expert claimed Meghan Markle requested a “one-on-one” meeting with her father-in-law, King Charles III, before returning to California after Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.

The Duchess of Sussex – who has been separated from the royal family since she and Harry stepped down as senior royals in 2020 – sent a letter asking for a private conversation with the new king, entertainment correspondent Neil Sr. said in a YouTube video on Saturday.

Sean described a potential meeting between Markle and King Charles as “an opportunity to clear the air, pull rights out of wrong, and explain some of the logic behind what they’ve been doing over the past two years”.

There’s definitely a lot to talk about: In the two years since she and Prince Harry moved to America, Markle has accused her in-laws of racism and failing to adequately address their mental health struggles.

“You have to admire Meghan’s self-confidence, whatever you think,” said Sean.

Still, he acknowledged, it is unclear whether the rumored request was honored.

“Frankly, we don’t know if it’s going to go on,” Sean said.

The Sussexes are believed to have spent the night in Windsor after Queen Elizabeth’s historic funeral on Monday. They would return to California after about two weeks with their children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, 1.

Although the couple put up a united front with the other royals for the funeral, it appears that the rift caused by Markle and Harry’s departure has not healed.

While Prince Harry was banned from saluting his beloved grandmother’s coffin after being stripped of her military honours, Markle attended both the funeral of her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, now Princess of Wales, and the couples’ joint walkout in Windsor. In the meantime, avoided both. 10.

The September 10 event was the first time Prince Harry, Markle, Prince William and Kate – once called the “Fab Four” – were seen together in public since 2020.

Over the weekend, Page Six reported that there was “a lot to go through” before the two couples ever became friends.

“When one feels good and on the other side of things, it’s easier said than done,” said a palace source.
