Prince Andrew, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and their families were seen together in public for the first time since Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at the age of 96.

Siblings included Andrew’s daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Anne’s husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence and son Peter Phillips and daughter Zara Tindall, Edward’s wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex and daughter Lady Louise Windsor.

The bereaved family attended a private church service in Crathy Kirk on Saturday morning in honor of the late monarch.

The royals were clearly emotional as they walked across the bridge over the Dee River on their way back to Balmoral Castle.

He was seen greeting well-wishers, who were standing behind barricades on the side of the road. Prince Andrew, whose last public appearance was during a memorial service for his father, Prince Philip, in March, thanked the gathered crowd, according to the BBC.

“Nice to see you, thanks for coming,” he said, per the outlet.

The crowd of mourners, who were seen smiling while walking on the road, broke the spirits of the family.

They gathered to admire a large pile of flowers and notes that were placed near the gates of the Balmoral Estate.

Andrew hugged Eugenie, who wiped the tears from her eyes. In a video shared by the BBC, members of the royal family were seen walking towards the gate before turning to greet the crowd, which erupted in applause and applause.

The entire royal family is expected to attend the Queen’s funeral, which will be announced by Buckingham Palace on Monday, September 19 at 11am.
