Before the season 17 premiere sister Wives TLC is releasing the clip on September 11th. Over the past week, the famed network has released several clips of the conversation that ended Cody Brown and Christine Brown’s 27-year spiritual marriage. In one clip, Cody proves forever that he doesn’t really understand how marriage and family really work.
Cody Brown initially vetoed the idea of Christine Brown moving to Utah
Christine Brown has never looked particularly happy in Flagstaff, Arizona, with most being on board with her way back in 2018. Christine was largely done with Las Vegas when the family packed up and moved to a new state. In Arizona that was clearly not what Christine was looking for.
The mother of six mentioned her interest in returning to Utah more than once over the years, but double-down on the idea in 2020, as the pandemic spread far and wide to the Brown family. When the rest of Brown vetoed the idea, she broke down.
According to a recent clip, in early 2021, Christine was married, but Cody wasn’t quite ready to let her go. In the clip uploaded by TLC to Facebook, Cody suggests that Christine can find a new life partner, marry, and bring him back to Flagstaff, where she will be integrated into the “family.”
Cody Brown’s Weird Proposal Reveals He Doesn’t Really Understand Marriage and Divorce
Over the years, Cody Brown has said few things that have survived sister Wives Fans scratch their heads. His idea of integrating Christine a new spouse into the Brown family in Flagstaff may be the most bizarre. the suggestion was so strange that sister Wives Fans are now pretty sure that Cody doesn’t understand anything about romance, relationships, or what he wants from Christine Brown’s life.
Reddit users have been trying to determine Kodi’s inspiration for the strange suggestion. Some worry that Cody was hoping to keep Christine unmarried and unhappy. Others are sure that Cody was only concerned about losing the money Christine had brought to the family. While Cody notes that he and Christine share children, they hardly seem to be a deciding factor. After all, five of their six children are over the age of 18, and three have been living away from Kodi since 2018.
Regardless of his motivations, it’s pretty clear that Cody has a precarious grip on reality. The conversation made it clear that he truly believed Christine, who has voiced his deep unhappiness in Arizona, would be remotely interested in remaining “in the family” with a new husband by his side. Cody not only doesn’t know his ex-wife nor what she is emotionally capable of, but he also doesn’t explain how divorce is traditionally done around the world.
Christine Brown has moved on and plans to eventually date
Christine did not succumb to Cody’s wishes, opting instead to leave Flagstaff, Arizona. The mother of six proposed the move to the entire family in 2020, but there were no takers. Now, she lives happily in Murray, Utah, with her youngest child, Truly Brown. Her three adult children also live nearby.
Christine has settled into life in Utah and she seems happier than ever, but there are more plans for the future. Christine sat down for an interview with People ahead of the season 17 premiere of the family reality TV show. During their chat, Christine talked about the possibility of a romantic relationship. She plans to date again, but she doesn’t know when she’ll be ready to do so. However, one thing is certain. Christine knows that she will only be looking for a monogamous relationship when she is ready to pursue one.
